Contour and Gesture Drawing
OK, here's the first test of uploading a video to YouTube and posting it on this blog.
This is an edited version of a longer lecture I did on the two basic types of drawing, Gesture and Contour. Contour is a slow, careful style of drawing, in which you carefully draw the outlines of shapes. Gesture is a fast, sketchy type of drawing used to capture motion and quick ideas. Many drawings incorporate a mixture of both gesture and contour.
Please let me know what you think of the presentation. Besides the camera looking up my nose...
